Last lesson we made apple crumble in the kitchen. It was really yummy!
The lesson was fun and I learnt how to slice an apple properly which was good. I really liked the apple skinner and cutter, I thought it was cool. I was also surprised how easy it was to make.
I have been completing the activities and thinking about the pizza I am going to make. I think so far I am going to have a fruit juice on the side to make it a balanced meal with fruits.
Next Wednesday we are having another prac lesson and I'm really excited to see what we are making!

Today was our first lesson in the kitchen. We made potato and a coleslaw and to my surprise it wasn't that bad. Making it was really fun.
Working in the kitchen today was the same as it was last year with all of the equipment mostly in the bays and when you come you have to get an apron and kitchen cloths. When working in the kitchen its really important to be organised and on time, or you can miss some important information.
We learnt about food preparation and cut things up like mints and lettuce. I also learnt that when you cook in a microwave, the food is cooked from the inside as opposed to the outside like an oven.
While making the food we also did things like getting juice from lemons and shredding carrots. It was all really fun!
I have started competing the first activity in the assignment and it isn't very hard so I hope to get it done by tomorrow. I really don't want to have to complete everything at the last minute so ill try my best to spread out the tasks through the term.

In the last lesson, we had a better look at the assignment and I realised that it wasn't that bad.
We also watched a video about nutrition and it really made me think about the food I was eating and my balance of foods. I do think that I have a relatively good eating habit but it could be improved with less junk food and more vegys.
I've been going on with the ongaurd tests and I have found them quite easy however sometimes it takes one or two attempts to finish it. Also, when I have tried to complete some at home, the computer wont let me open up the website so i still have a few more tests to complete. Ill have to do them at school.
Tomorrow, our next lesson of hospo, we are making something with potato in it. I'm excited, except some of the other girls told me that it wasn't very yummy. It will be fun to make though!

First lesson
Today is the very first hospo lesson for 2011! :)
We have been given a brief look at the work we are going to do over the term and it looks like alot but I think I can manage. The pizza making looks really fun and I can't wait to make all of the yummy food.
I think that hospitality is going to be interesting and really fun this year!
